«dyingpixels» von Stefan Baltensperger ist ein digitales Selbstporträt, von dessen Bildinformation, ein Jahr nach dem statistisch berechneten Todestag des Künstlers, nichts mehr übrig sein wird. Jede Viertelstunde wird die Bildinformation eines Pixels von einem Computerprogramm gelöscht. Der Moment des Betrachtens wird dadurch in seiner Einmaligkeit zum Original. Nach dem „Tod“ des Bildes bleibt nur noch dessen Code erhalten, der in «baltensperger», einer vom Künstler in seinem persönlichen Dialekt geschaffenen Programmiersprache, geschrieben ist.
