We are delighted to announce the first solo show of acclaimed Swiss artist Daniele Buetti at Haunch of Venison Zürich.

For many years an important contributor to Swiss art, Daniele Buetti’s work explores the quest for personal identity in a weary world dominated by oppressive media machinery and consumer passions. Buetti, well known for his lightboxes, photographs and installations featuring defaced top models with artificial ballpoint pen scarifications, has lately concentrated on grotesque elements of his artistic topoi. Intricate installations trigger archetypal fears of the abnormal and evoke associations of violence and devastation.

Meret Oppenheim

de Pury & Luxembourg Zurich is proud to announce their first solo exhibition of Meret Oppenheim (1913-1985).

Consisting of over 50 works of art, this show unites oeuvres from every working period of the artist. While most of the works are for sale, we have accumulated a selection of outstanding loans that on the one hand complement the other works and on the other hand deepen the understanding of Meret Oppenheim's diverse artistic output.

Gerold Miller

Gerold Miller setzt sich mit Fragen der Bildlichkeit im Grenzbereich von Skulptur, umgrenzter Wandfläche und skulptural-bildhaft definierter Architektur auseinander. Seine Objekte können als Bilder gelesen werden, genauso legitim ist es aber sie als Skulpturen aufzufassen. Somit könnte man seine "total objects" als dreidimensionale Bilder bezeichnen. Es sind Objekte, die eine gewisse Tiefe aufweisen und sich plastisch vom Hintergrund abheben, wobei sie nicht auf dem Boden stehen, sondern an der Wand hängen wie Tafelbilder.

Anahita Rezvani-Rad - Painting

Lullin + Ferrari are delighted to show new paintings by the Iranian artist Anahita Rezvani-Rad (b. 1978 Tehran). Rezvani-Rad did her BA in painting at the Azad University in Tehran (1997-2002). In 2004 she moved to London and studied Art History at The Courtauld Institute of Art. In 2005-06 Rezvani-Rad followed a postgraduate in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, where she completed an MA in Fine Art in 2008.

Caro Niederer

Uncontrived, everyday images are wrought large and luxurious in Caro Niederer's new works. Family scenes - an outing at a lake, a tennis lesson, the artist's daughter bright-eyed and standing before a painting - have been captured as photographs, then hand knotted into three-metre-long silk carpets in China. These are cultural returns upon ordinary moments, untroubled images whose details have been painstakingly knotted into lustre. Niederer is interested in how value comes into being: in how images allow us to hold onto and celebrate isolated fragments of our lives, and the ways in which they are shaped by their context. "My practice is like an open spiral that moves with time," she has said. "My work revolves around the subject of memory and the question of what remains that is valuable."

Jakub Julian Ziolkowski

Jakub Julian Ziolkowski's exhibitions resemble hothouses run amok, laboratories brimming with bizarre invention. Individually compelling, when seen together, his works paint a fictive universe bristling with narrative and detail. Motifs swarm into each other, cross-germinating in hallucinatory multiplication. Ziolkowski's interrelated pieces ultimately understand everything as viscera, tangled up within the squalor and complicity of the human body.

"YOU SAID HE SAID SHE SAID" is a group show of New York based artists whose work to date spans various medium and who have enjoyed exploring space, senses, sensitivity and scenarios. The works selected for this show enjoy a common thread of lines, shapes and declinations thereof, weaving a combined presence and special depth as well as juxtaposition of repetition and consequence.

Pauline Boudry und Renate Lorenz - N.O.Body

Les Complices* freut sich ausserordentlich, als Einsteig nach der Sommerpause die Ausstellung "N.O.Body" der in Berlin lebenden Künstlerinnen Pauline Boudry und Renate Lorenz anzukündigen.

"N.O.Body" bezieht sich auf das Archiv des Berliner Sexualwissenschaftlers Magnus Hirschfeld. Hirschfeld, der sich aktiv für sexuelle Selbstbestimmung und die Rechte von Schwulen, Lesben, Inter- und Transsexuellen einsetzte, betrieb ab 1919 in Berlin das weltweit erste Institute für Sexualwissenschaft. Im Mai 1933 fand die liberale Praxis des Instituts mit der Plünderung und Schliessung der umfangreichen Bibliothek und des Archivs durch die Nationalsozialisten ein jähes Ende.

Takashi Yasumura und Osamu Kanemura - Japanische Fotografie

Abbt Projects freut sich zur Saisoneröffnung zwei japanische Fotografen zu zeigen, deren Werke in den jüngsten Jahren internationale Anerkennung erfahren haben. Die Ausstellung wurde von der renommierten Verlegerin Yoko Sawada von Osiris Co. Ltd, Tokio, und Martin Jaeggi kuratiert.

Ryan McLaughlin - Robinson

Groeflin Maag Galerie is proud to present its second solo exhibition with Berlin-based, American artist, Ryan McLaughlin. In the exhibition entitled, "Robinson", McLaughlin is presenting a new series of paintings and for the first time, sculptures.

Drawing his inspiration largely from historical and imagined sports heroes of the American baseball leagues, this exhibition weaves a vague narrative through a stylised coupling of fact and fiction.
