Happy summer from Von Lintel Gallery. Please join us for our Summer Group Show featuring new work by the gallery artists. In the meantime, we'd like to share some recent good news about our artists and the gallery:

Marco Breuer was recently featured in the cover article of the March 2008 issue of ARTnews as a leader in the increasingly popular movement of abstraction in photography. Marco is currently busy preparing for his upcoming solo show, "Principles of Abstraction", at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas this fall. The accompanying exhibition catalogue includes a conversation with Carter Foster, curator of drawings at the Whitney Museum.

John Chiara's first solo exhibition with Von Lintel Gallery this spring was met with glowing reviews in several publications including The New Yorker, Daily Candy, The Village Voice, DART and BlackBook Insider.

Stephen Ellis recently participated as both artist and diner in "Rose Colored Glasses", a unique dinner forum salute to Rirkrit Tiravanija, hosted by Gavin Brown Enterprise. Stephen Ellis's essay, "Dan in the World," appears in "Dan Walsh: Paintings", a retrospective catalogue published in 2007 by Paula Cooper and Xippas galleries.

Roland Fischer's successful exhibition of bold, new work, including his "Chinese Pool Portraits" and "Façade" series, recently ended at Von Lintel Gallery. Roland exhibited extensively this past year with solo exhibitions all over the globe, including Lisbon, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

The June 2008 issue of "The Brooklyn Rail" features an enthusiastic review of "This is Karate", Arnold Helbling's recent collaborative show with Marco Breuer. We're excited to announce Arnold's upcoming solo show of new paintings scheduled for this fall.

Valerie Jaudon recently completed her successful show of new paintings at Von Lintel Gallery this spring. Her work is currently on view at the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio and the UBS Art Gallery in New York. Earlier this year, she was included in group shows at the Hudson River Museum, the Hessel Museum of Art at the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College and American University Art Museum, Washington and received mention in ARTnews, artnet, and The New York Times. Keep an eye out for a review of her Von Lintel show in an upcoming issue of Art in America.

Look for Izima Kaoru's brand new book, "Izima Kaoru: Landscapes with a Corpse", due out this fall. Published in Germany by Hatje Cantz, this extensive monograph includes 150 images with text by Roy Exley, Peter Weiermair and Yuko Hasegawa.

Tim Maguire's work is on view now through July 6th in a group show of recent and past oil paintings at Museum Villa Rot in Ulm, Germany. He has recently completed a solo show at Ikon Gallery in London.

Fresh from his artist residency at the nationally acclaimed Headlands Institute for the Arts, David Maisel is participating in an upcoming show, "It's Not Easy Being Green", at the Tampa Museum of Art this July. David's earlier accomplishments this year include a feature article in the January issue of Smithsonian magazine; a solo show at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art from January to April; and his multi-chaptered series, "Black Maps", which continues to tour museums through 2010.

Deborah Roan has expanded her practice by taking her composite photograph technique on the road. Recently returned from her extensive travels in Tokyo, her latest series reveals the hyper-stylized consumer culture of Japan.

We are proud to announce Mark Sheinkman's solo show, "Mark Sheinkman: Drawing In Space", currently on view at the Grand Rapids Art Museum in Michigan. Mark's work has also been a consistent standout in "Leaded: The Materiality and Metamorphosis of Graphite", a traveling show organized by The Harriet Museum of Art at the University of Richmond. The March issue of Art in America includes a raving review of Mark Sheinkman's most recent solo show at Von Lintel Gallery.

Joseph Stashkevetch's work appears on the cover and inside "Drawing Essentials", a handsome book on drawing techniques published this year by Oxford University Press.
